| Just by Birdsquawker saying "too much power" might not explain everything to you. Yes a very heavy duty clutch could hold it. However at those power levels you want a powerglide trans. Google to find out what a powerglide is. |

| lol explaining what a powerglide is to a guy who's s/nis '86 Camino. My friend, I know everything of the Chevies. Though a powerglide is a 2-spd, I don't think that's what you meant. Rebuilt TH400, 700R4, or even a well built TH350 would do just fine. You didn't really explain it either, only explanation was "you want a" I still don't see why not. It'd just take more finesse to master. |

| I do not know everything about Chevies. What I do know is a car with a large powerband will do just fine with a TH350. This inparticular car has a small powerband though. He would run faster times and probably more consistent times with a powerglide. The point of my reply was not to come back at you. It was to state why IMO it would be better to run an automatic than a manual trans in this car. |

| Hey man, I wasn't biting you. The reason a large powerband does well with a TH350 is because it has few gears. By saying a short powerband does better with LESS gears is incorrect. I'm starting to think you don't know what you're saying. Either way, the car would only need about 3 gears in a dragstrip, anything else and it'd need at least 5. You still haven't explained anything about AT vs. MT, you're just getting offended and dropping names. I just thought you knew what you were talking about. |
